The Home of Rest for Horses is closed to the public on Saturday 5th and Monday 7th May due to our Family Fun Day “Horses, Heroes and Hounds” on Sunday 6th May. We welcome you to join us at 11.00 am for a great day to raise much needed funds for The Horse Trust and Hounds for Heroes.
Admission is free
Opening hours: We are currently operating our summer opening days which are Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 2 – 4 pm until the end of October.
No Feeding: carrots or polo mints must not be fed to the horses, ponies or donkeys. The Horse Trust operates a "No Feeding Policy".
Parking: there is limited car parking at The Home.
During Summer months (when it is dry enough) an additional car park is
opened at the entrance to The Home.
Disabled, elderly/infirm people who do not feel able to make the walk to
the stables (less than a 1/4 of a mile) can still bring their cars up
to the stables.
Toilets: available in the stables (including disabled).
No Smoking: smoking is not permitted on the premises.
Dogs: are welcome, providing they are kept on a lead at all times and are comfortable with horses.
Coaches: by appointment only and on week days.
Visitor Centre: The stable block also includes our
Visitor Centre which will give you a flavour of the history of The Home,
along with displays aimed at promoting responsible horse ownership.
