HRH The Princess Royal, patron of The Home of Rest for Horses, will be
attending a seminar on "Buying and Owning a Horse" at Wolverhampton
Racecourse on 27 April.
The day is a unique opportunity for horse owners and potential owners to learn from equestrian experts and leading veterinary specialists.
This seminar, sponsored by The Home, is a British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA) Trust initiative to provide veterinary education to the horse owning public.
The programme has two sessions. The first, "Buying a Horse" includes what to look for, the pre-purchase veterinary examination, insurance cover and the responsibilities of ownership. The afternoon session, "Maintaining a Horse" will focus on the costs of ownership as well as first aid, fitness, training, farriery and feeding.
All the expert speakers will present technical information in an easy to understand manner. The intention is to supply practical help to anybody involved in horse ownership.
Despite the venue, the emphasis will be firmly on non-racing activities, incorporating competition and pleasure riding.
Cost of registration for the day is £35, to include lunch. Details and a registration form are available from Louise Holder, R&W Communications, Suites 3&4, 8 Kings Court, Willie Snaith Road, Newmarket CB8 7SG. Tel: 01638 667600. Email: louise.holder@rw-communications.co.uk.
