start in January 2007.The recipient scholars will be based at The Royal Veterinary College, the University of Liverpool, Bristol Veterinary School, The University of Edinburgh and a two-centre project at Bell Equine Veterinary Clinic and Glasgow Veterinary School.
Projects covered by the scholarship include: obesity in horses and its effect on equine welfare, mortality of fat horses after colic surgery, equine dental disease, disorders of the equine head and diverse equine clinical studies involving a range of evidence-based medicine.
Professor Josh Slater, European Specialist in Equine Medicine and Professor of Equine Clinical Studies at the Royal Veterinary College said: "We are delighted that the Home is making its biggest-ever investment in clinical training scholars and equine welfare.
