The Horse Trust's leaflet about African Horse Sickness - click to downloadThe risks and dangers of African Horse Sickness (AHS) are spelt out in a new leaflet from The Horse Trust and The British Horse Society.

Launched today at the National Equine Forum (NEF) by Horse Trust Chief Executive, Paul Jepson, it gives a clear message to horse owners and vets what to look out for and how to act should AHS reach our shores.

Paul Jepson of The Horse Trust said, “So far this devastating disease has been largely confined to Africa – but climate change could make it possible for this disease to spread and thrive in Northern Europe – including Britain. “

The Horse Trust is playing a key role working with government and industry experts to co-ordinate the UK’s defence against African Horse Sickness and create a suitable level of awareness and preparedness without inducing panic.
