Room at the Inn for Stevie

Room at the Inn for Stevie Little white donkey Stevie has had the perfect Christmas present - he has traded a temporary stable at The Horse Trust's Home of Rest for Horses for a permanent one.

The 11.3 hand donkey used to enjoy occasional holidays with the other residents at the Home in Speen, Buckinghamshire, and was very fondly remembered by some of the grooms.

Kept in the back garden he was a much loved lawn mower - until his owner moved away leaving him in the care of the new house-owners. Despite their best intentions to provide a loving home for this cuddly donkey, their inexperience with horses forced them to seek help. They recognised that Stevie was very lonely and suffering from lameness and general depression.

This was the responsible attitude to take and, with Stevie's best interests at heart, they waved him off to a permanent life in his favourite holiday home.

Already making new friends Stevie is a splendid addition to the Trust's family of donkeys.
