New Home Needed
Homes are sought in Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties, including Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.Dancer, a six-year-old 13.2hh piebald gelding, arrived at The Horse Trust in February. The charity is now hoping to find him a loving home.
"Dancer is an unbroken horse who would be ideal for a confident and experienced owner that is used to backing and bringing on young horses" said Liane Crowther, Welfare and Education Officer at The Horse Trust. "A young horse needs plenty of stimulation and interaction so we’re hoping to find him an active home. Because of his size, he would particularly suit an experienced teenager or lightweight adult."
Dancer’s groom Lucy Twiss has spent time training Dancer since his arrival. He has been getting used to wearing a roller and bridle and is responding positively to voice commands when he’s lunged.
"Dancer is a very expressive horse – he wiggles his nose like mad when he sees food or gets excited. He has made a lot of progress in the short time he has been with us and he is very willing to learn," said Lucy.
The Horse Trust has a number of young horses who will be looking for new homes over the next few months due to the recent admission of a large number of welfare cases.
