Volunteers Work To Help Horses Rest
A new initiative was recently formed between The Home of Rest for Horses and the large international company 3M,
responsible for the infamous Post-it note and Scotch tape. Each year every employee from 3M has to work as a
volunteer for one day. The different types of work range from helping out at hospitals and old peoples’ homes
to clearing canals and making ponds.
Six employees from 3M came to help out for the day in September and they managed to clear overgrown vegetation
from our quarantine area using strimmers as well as preparing some of our field shelters and barns with fresh
bedding in preparation for the cold months ahead. They all agreed they had a wonderful time and are looking
forward to next year. The Home regards the help and relationship it has with its many volunteers as extremely
important and it can be very rewarding for both parties involved.
